ACTING CLASSES & WORKSHOP

Q - "I'm not British! Will this class work for me?"

A - Of course! This course focuses on what works and what doesn't.  What you need and what you don't. The 'Britishness' simply stems from the no nonsense approach that appeals to those in the business that do the hiring. It's about being prepared in every sense of the word. We want you working - plain and simple.

Q - "How much does it cost for a semester?"

A - NBS prides itself on being one of the most reasonably priced classes in LA. A 4 week course costs $195. We offer a 10% discount to participants who join with a friend. That is 10% off for both parties.

Q - "I need representation. Will this class get me seen by directors, casting directors, agents, managers, producers?"

A - Yes. Due to the fact that NBS' creators are both working actors they have excellent contacts in the business and will actively help it's members to get representation and work. Casting directors, agents, managers, directors etc often attend classes and give advice and help to our memberss. This is an excellent opportunity to put yourselves in front of the people that can really make the difference. NBS has signed 4 members to agencies/managers this year alone.

Q - "I'm not very experienced. Do you offer beginners classes?"

A - Yes we do.

Q - "How long do I have to commit for?"

A - For as long as you wish. We only ask for one payment to cover you for 4 classes. At the end of the 4 weeks you are free to leave should you want to. We don't want anyone to feel locked into something that they don't want to be.

Q - "Do you offer individual classes? Audition preparation and script analysis?"

A - Yes we do. Individual classes can be booked with an instructor of your choice. They are usually an hour and prices vary.

Q - "Can I audit a class?"

A - Yes you can, with an appointment. Auditees are welcome to attend the Wednesday night class that commences at 7.15pm. Please arrive on time (that means 10 minutes early!) You are not expected to stay for the whole 3 hours if you don't wish but are welcome to do so.

Q - "I really want to learn to do a British accent. Does NBS offer dialect/voice coaching?"

A - Yes. NBS' instructors are extremely experienced in teaching these techniques. We not only offer dialect coaching for British/American accents but a wide range of international accents.

Q - "I'm a writer and an actor. Would NBS be the right place for me?"

A - Absolutely. TJ is a screenwriter and many, if not most of the scenes worked on in class are written by him. If ever a member wants to write a scene and put it up, this is more than welcome. It's the best way for a writer to see their work 'up on it's feet' and brought to life.

Q - "I'm a a child/teenager. Can I attend?"

A - Yes. We have classes specifically designed for young actors. These focus on techniques and script work that contains age appropriate material only. If you wish to be accompanied by a parent/adult that is completely acceptable.
